Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary

A short drive from Tugun, or a walk is Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, home to one of the largest collections of Australian native wildlife in the world.

The sanctuary offers a number of shows including: twice daily Lorikeet Feeds, reptile shows, free flight birds shows and Aboriginal Dance performances.

Little kids will enjoy Wild Island play area and the train, while big kids will love the Green Challenge ropes course at the Adventure Parc.

There are several places to dine in the Sanctuary including the Sanctuary Café; serving a fresh, modern menu. 

David Fleay Wildlife Park

Run by the Queensland Environmental Protection Agency, David Fleay Wildlife Park, aspires to be Australia’s premiere wildlife education facility.

The park features kangaroos, crocodiles, koalas, snakes, lizards and bird life including brolgas, cassowary and eagles. It is also the only park on the Gold Coast where you can see a platypus!

All of the Australian animals are housed in natural habitat-inspired enclosures.

David Fleay Wildlife Park is located on West Burleigh Road and is open every day from 9am to 5pm (closed Christmas day and Anzac Day morning)
