Coolangatta is as far south as one can go on the Gold
Coast in Queensland before you enter into New South
Wales. Coolangatta is a great holiday destination for
families, couples and groups looking for a beach holiday
away from the hustle and bustle of Surfers Paradise
which is just 25 minutes north and easily accessible
through public transport or self-drive.
Coolangatta offers great dining. A five minute walk from
San Simeon will get you to many fine dining places.
Italian, Mexican, Vietnamese and Indian restaurants are
all featured as well as just the best fish and chip shop
around. Why not consider a visit to the newly renovated
Tugun Surf Club; great family dining and entertainment
overlooking the ocean. The renowned Twin Towns Services
Club and Entertainment complex is also close by so leave
the car at home and catch the local bus which departs
from our front door every 20 minutes.
Retail therapy is alive in Coolangatta at the Showcase
Shopping Centre on Marine Parade with its specialty
stores and cafes. It's also only a short drive away to
major shopping centres at Pacific Fair, Robina Town
Centre and Harbour Town outlet emporium. There is also
the Coolangatta markets every second Sunday of each
month featuring local arts and crafts for sale.
Choose to while away your days at the beach or take up
surfing at one of the great surf break beaches. Or try
one of the two championship golf courses in the area or
cross into New South Wales and try out Coolangatta &
Tweed Heads golf course.
Of course if you want to experience any of the Gold
Coast attractions and theme parks, they are easily accessible and most
public transport will take you there.
